Finance of America Foundation

Finance of America Foundation was formed on July 26, 2016, as a 501(c)(3) private foundation. The mission of the Foundation is to provide support to United States homeowners who are in distressed financial situations by connecting them with available resources that may enable them to remain in their homes.

The purpose of is to connect homeowners with the resources and assistance they may need when facing times of financial hardship. This is accomplished by asking a few simple questions about the homeowner’s situation and then providing a customized report of relevant assistance programs and contact information.

  • Karen Tankersley

    President, Finance of America Foundation

    Strategic Legal Advisor, Finance of America Companies

    Karen Cornell Tankersley has served as the President of Finance of America Foundation since December 2018. She has also served as Finance of America Companies’ Strategic Legal Advisor since June 2019. From August 2014 until June 2019, Ms. Tankersley served as General Counsel. She has spent over 35 years as an attorney working in the financial services area, serving as Chief Compliance Officer for Nationstar Mortgage, Chief Legal Officer of Aurora Bank, SVP and Senior Counsel for Lehman Brothers, and Senior Managing Director/General Counsel of Finance America LLC. She holds a J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law and a B.A. from Texas A & M University.

  • Brian Libman

    Board Member, Finance of America Foundation

    Chairman, Finance of America Companies

    In his current role as Chairman, Brian Libman oversees Finance of America Companies’ business strategy. He is the architect of the company’s unique business model, and it is his vision that guides the company.

    Mr. Libman has spent his entire career in the specialty finance area and has been involved in structuring and consummating the acquisitions of more than twenty businesses. Prior to creating Finance of America in 2013, he was the managing partner and CEO of Green Tree Servicing and became the Chief Strategy Officer of its public market successor. He began his career at Lehman Brothers and spent more than a decade developing the loan acquisition, servicing and lending businesses there, including the creation of Aurora Loan Services, one of the Nation’s leading alternative mortgage originators and servicers.

    Through his deep knowledge of the lending space, he invented and was awarded patent #US20070136186A1 for his Automated Loan Evaluation System, which is a system and method for providing a loan pricing model for various lending scenarios.

    Mr. Libman submatriculated with honors from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, having earned both his MBA and BSE.

  • Graham Fleming

    Board Member, Finance of America Foundation

    President, Finance of America Companies

    Graham, a Finance of America co-founder, brings to the company over 25 years of experience and deep expertise in the mortgage lending business. As president, Graham oversees our lending segments (Forward, Reverse and Commercial), as well as Lender Services. Prior to his current role, he served as chief administrative officer overseeing aspects of our Business Excellence Office including Finance, Treasury, Risk, Compliance and Corporate Administration.

    With expertise in strategic planning, capital markets, and financial and regulatory management, Graham’s contribution to the company is invaluable. Before joining Finance of America, he served as a chief financial officer of AMRESCO Residential Mortgage and co-chief operating officer of Finance America LLC.

    Graham’s passion and support for our non-profits, Foundation and Cares, have helped both entities grow to support the communities we serve and our employees in need.
