Finance of America Foundation was formed on July 26, 2016, as a 501(c)(3) private foundation. The mission of the Foundation is to provide support to United States homeowners who are in distressed financial situation, by connecting them with available resources which might enable them to remain in their homes.

Homeowner Help

The purpose of is to connect homeowners with the resources and assistance they may need when facing times of financial hardship. This is accomplished by asking a few simple questions about the homeowner’s situation, and then providing a customized report of relevant assistance programs and contact information.

Barney Frank

Advisor to the Board

Barney Frank served as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Massachusetts from 1981 to 2013. Congressman Frank served as chairman of the House Financial Services Committee (2007–2011) and was a leading co-sponsor of the 2010 Dodd–Frank Act, a sweeping reform of the U.S. financial industry. He earned a B.A. from Harvard University, and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.

Strategic Legal Advisor, UFG Holdings

Karen Cornell Tankersley has served as the President of Finance of America Foundation since December 2018. She has also served as Strategic Legal Advisor for UFG Holdings since June 2019. From August 2014 until June 2019, Ms. Tankersley served as the General Counsel for UFG Holdings and its subsidiaries. Ms. Tankersley has spent over 35 years as an attorney working in the financial services area, serving as Chief Compliance Officer for Nationstar Mortgage, Chief Legal Officer of Aurora Bank, SVP and Senior Counsel for Lehman Brothers, and Senior Managing Director/General Counsel of Finance America LLC. Karen holds a J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law and a B.A. from Texas A & M University.

Executive Chairman, UFG

As Executive Chairman of UFG, Mr.Libman oversees strategy for both Finance of America and Incenter. Prior to forming UFG, Mr. Libman served as Chief Strategy Officer of Walter Investment Management Corp. Before joining Walter, he was Managing Partner and CEO of Green Tree Servicing. He also founded Finance America LLC, a national consumer lender. Mr. Libman began his career at Lehman Brothers, where he achieved the title of Managing Director and was instrumental in building Lehman's Aurora Loan Services into one of the largest alternative mortgage originators and securitizers. Mr. Libman served on the Board of Directors of Clayton Holdings LLC, a national consumer lending advisory and analytics company. Mr.Libman earned his MBA and bachelor’s degree from The Wharton School at The University of Pennsylvania.

Chief Administrative Officer, Finance of America

Graham Fleming has served as the Chief Administrative Officer of UFG Holdings and its subsidiaries since 2014. As Chief Administrative Officer, Mr. Fleming oversees several Shared Service areas, including Secondary Marketing. He brings over 20 years of experience in the mortgage lending business including extensive expertise in strategic planning, accounting and financial management, regulatory compliance, quality control and risk management, secondary operations and capital markets. Prior to joining Finance of America, he was Founder and President of Icon Residential Lenders. Mr.Fleming also served as Chief Financial Officer of AMRESCO Residential Mortgage and Co-Chief Operating Officer of Finance America LLC.
